Christmas 2025 — A Quiet Yes to Giving

Today was one of those days I want to remember.

We went on a simple errand to Surigao City—nothing extraordinary on the outside. But inside my heart, something settled deeply. My mom, my sisters, and I bought food packs and toys for children. These will be shared with around 50 kids during one of our church outreaches.

It will be our first family attempt to celebrate Christmas this way—intentionally, quietly, and with purpose.

As we chose items and counted packs, I kept thinking: This is what Christmas looks like when love takes shape. No grand gestures. Just obedience. Just a willing heart.

I am reminded that God often begins with what is already in our hands.

A Verse That Became a Prayer

“In that day, each of you will invite your neighbor to sit under your vine and fig tree.” — Zechariah 3:10

This verse has stayed with me. It speaks of peace, provision, and the kind of abundance that spills over into generosity. It is not about wealth—it is about having enough to welcome others.

This Christmas, it became my prayer.

A Christmas Prayer

Lord,
You promised a time when people would invite their neighbors
to sit under their vine and fig tree—
a picture of peace, provision, and generosity.

I pray that one day, in Your perfect time,
You will give me the capacity to live this verse—
to have a home that can shelter others
and provision enough to feed and bless my neighbors.

Until that day comes,
teach me to be faithful with what I have now,
to open my heart even before I can open my doors,
and to trust that You are preparing both the place and the purpose.

I know that when the time is right,
You will make a way—
not for my comfort alone,
but so Your love may be shared.

Amen.

Tonight, as I reflect on Christmas 2025, I realize that this season is teaching me patience and trust. We may not yet have everything we dream of—but we have enough to begin. Enough to give. Enough to love. Enough to say yes.

And perhaps that is what Christmas truly is:
God reminding us that when we offer what we have, He multiplies it—
in His time, for His purpose, and for His glory.

Tough Day, Positive Outlook

Today started with high spirits, my usual cheerful self ready to tackle the day. I firmly believe that this optimistic attitude shields me from getting engulfed by life's problems. However, as the day unfolded, it became an emotional rollercoaster. The morning began innocuously enough with a simple food order at Chowking. My husband requested an addition to my usual order, but a misunderstanding led to me thinking I had to alter the entire order. When the food arrived, blame ensued as I was accused of not listening well. Despite rectifying the situation, the incident lingered in my mind, causing a ripple of unease. Later in the evening, attempting a light-hearted tease with my sister about dinner plans went awry. Unbeknownst to me, she wasn't in the mood and my innocent jest triggered an emotional breakdown. The atmosphere turned tense and sad, casting a shadow over the evening. The final blow came when I asked my husband to be home by 8 pm and get dinner for our children. However, he returned home significantly later at 10:22 pm, leaving me furious and utterly disappointed. The accumulated frustrations of the day seemed to converge, overwhelming me to the point where I couldn't even muster the joy to play with my daughter. Confrontation became difficult as my sister was present, inhibiting me from expressing my pent-up emotions. It's moments like these that prayer becomes my refuge, providing a channel to release and find solace amidst the storm of emotions, a healing balm when I feel ready to confront these challenges anew.

Christmas Prayer 1

Dear God, As I sit here reflecting on our Christmas celebration in Butuan City with our cherished family, my heart overflows with gratitude. The laughter of our children playing games and the joy on their faces as they unwrapped their gifts—these moments are precious blessings that I cherish deeply. Despite the challenges, the weariness my husband, Joseph, felt as he drove us through the night, we arrived safely at 10:00 PM, and for that, I'm immensely thankful. In the midst of our joy, I can't ignore the weight of our financial struggles. Yet, in these moments of uncertainty, I've witnessed your divine intervention. With less than the ideal family budget left in a month, you've orchestrated miracles in our lives, meeting our needs in ways I couldn't have imagined. It's a testament to your faithfulness, and I acknowledge your hand in every aspect of our journey. Lord, I come before you with a humble heart, seeking a breakthrough in our finances. Guide us to avenues where we can contribute more to our family's well-being. As the eldest and feeling the weight of responsibility to support our loved ones, grant us the wisdom to discern the right side hustles that will alleviate our financial burdens. Your promise in Philippians 4:19 echoes in my soul: 'And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.' I cling to this assurance, believing in your abundant provision for our family. As the rain pours relentlessly, I pray for protection from the floods that threaten other barangays. Please shield us from harm, calm the storm, and keep us safe in your loving embrace. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayers and for your unwavering love. In your name, I place my hopes and trust. Amen.
